Momma Cookies: A Warm, Confident Script for Real Branding
Practical Designer Notes You’ll Actually Use
- Always test in black and white first. Momma Cookies relies on shape, not contrast—so if it reads cleanly in grayscale, it’ll hold up anywhere.
- Check small-size readability on real mockups, not just screens. Print a 12pt sample on your intended label stock or fabric swatch.
- Compare uppercase vs. lowercase usage. The caps are strong but less distinctive; I default to title case or sentence case for warmth and flow.
- Review spacing in context. Default tracking often needs +10–20 units for headlines over 48pt—especially with rounded words (“sweet”, “home”, “love”).
- Test pairings deliberately: beside a sturdy serif font (like Lora) for editorial depth, a friendly sans serif font (like Poppins) for digital clarity, another script font (sparingly!) for layered accents, and a bold display font only for deliberate contrast—not harmony.
- Confirm commercial licensing before any client or business use. Momma Cookies is a commercial font from Script Amp, and its license covers digital products, Canva templates, Cricut projects, and resale assets—but verify terms match your use case (e.g., SaaS platforms or extended redistribution may need add-ons).
